Summer has officially ended, so it's time to harvest the last summer fruits and vegetables. Today, I made some spicy oil out of our homegrown chili peppers: that way, you can use them for a long time and at the same time, you get a very spicy oil that can be used in all sorts of dishes. Next week, I plan to do the same thing with some of our green herbs, before they disappear. I also finished a couple of fruit liqueurs (making fruit liqueurs takes two or three months) and I tried to make coconut rum for the very first time (I will tell you in a couple of weeks if it worked!). Our homemade liqueur collection now contains a raspberry, apricot and lavender liqueur and my coconut rum-to-be of course. Next week, I also want make a new bottle of limoncello, some orange liqueur and banana rum. A whole bar filled with homemade stuff, how cool is that?!
